| Nice loop, majority of ride is on MUP (Marine Drive MUP, Eastbank Esplanade, Springwater Corridor).
I usually start near the Gateway Fred Meyer, ride counter-clockwise but you'll want to take into account the wind along the river, modify the direction so that you have a tailwind along Marine Dr. |

| If time is limited, this is a great mini loop that can be done either direction.
There is an access road into Washington park at SW Sterns and Burnside that is closed to traffic. This is an ideal entrance to the park. The loop has about 4 miles of climbing and 4 miles of descent.

| Mostly rural country roads, best in the afternoon without car commuters and before the school buses are out.
This route starts with a nice climb up to Skyline then a fun technical descent down Old Germantown. I recommend going that direction due to lack of shoulder in almost the entire route.
Rock Creek Rd is very low traffic and feels much farther away from Portland than it really is. You'll do an easy longish climb back up to Skyline then put on the gas all the way back. |
