This route takes in a mixture of moorland, hills and valleys. Between Holme valley the Upper Don valley. High Flatts, Victoria, Dunford, Langsett, Silkstone, Cawthorne, High Hoyland, Dunkirk Inn, Upper Denby. Circles around Penistone. A taster of millstone grit country. Very little time is spent on main roads; over 90% of the route is on lanes.

Two cheeky climbs for a mid week spin. Start in Fixby and head up to Outlane. Drop down Scape Goat hill to Slawit, then get on Manchester Road to Marsden and aim for the golf course. Pass the course praying its wind behind. Hit the the top, do up your jacket and follow the main road back to Marsden. Back on Manchester Road to Slawit and head back up Scape Goat Hill as fast as you can and roll all the way home. Easy
