Arrive early in the day so that you can visit the Billings Farm & Museum and take in downtown Woodstock. Leave some time in this hilly ride to wander off and visit some of the covered bridges and historical sites that are a little off the route, such as historic Weathersfield Ctr, and the Coolidge birthplace. Cap the day off with a dip in the swimming hole beneath the Elm St. bridge.

Starting at the Richmond Park & Ride, this CCW loop takes in two of Vermont's nicest climbs, Smugglers' Notch and Appalachian Gap. The Gap is easier going the other direction, but the Notch is much harder that way. There are lots of variations to this ride and it's easy to make it a century, or bail out in Waterbury and take Rte 2 back.

Roads are relatively low-traffic and most pavement is in good to new condition. This route is a special treat during foliage season, late Sept - early Oct.. CW is the best direction for this ride!
