| My wife and I rode this route in 2009 as part of a cross-country tour. There are several stretches along busy Hwy 9 with no shoulder, but otherwise it is a scenic and low traffic route. Note that the initial stretch out of Amherst is on a bike path. There are a lot of hills on the route and some of them are quite steep. | |||||

| My wife and I rode this route in the Spring of 2009 as part of a cross-country tour. It deviates from the ACA TransAm route at Rush Center, KS and ends at the western entrance to the Katy Trail. The latter, which can be easily ridden with road bikes even though it is unpaved, goes across Missouri into St. Louis. This route is mostly flat and the traffic volume is generally light. | |||||
