| The two main long stay car parks in Hebden Bridge are within the loop shown. One currently charges 40p/hr and the other 60p/hr so try the Market Place one first! They are shut from Tuesday evenings to Thursday evenings for the local market. Arrive before 10:00 PM if you want a place - they fill up early! |

| This is a metric century ride (100 km) from Meriden, near Birmingham. I have plotted it as another CycleChat forum ride, but it would be a nice training ride for those of you in the area who like to get away from traffic as much as possible, and who like the odd little hill thrown in. I haven't yet worked out where the local cafes are, but I know that there are shops in Polesworth that you could use at about the 60km point. This isn't a quick route because it twists and turns round some narrow country lanes but it is the kind of ride I enjoy. I know that some of you out there prefer tearing up and main roads - this one isn't for you! ;) |

| Route of the Season of Mists audax event which takes place on the first Sunday of October each year from Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire. It is a very tough, scenic 100 km with 2,500 of climbing, some very steep. Cafe stops at Country Kitchen cafe, Waddington and Coldwell Activity Centre Cafe above Nelson. (MSeries had previously posted a route with one shortcut and one diversion in it. This is the official route.) There is always a great refreshments table laid on at HQ in Hebden Bridge afterwards. Event details can be found in the Audax UK calendar at http://www.aukweb.net/cal/index.htm |

| This is a hard, scenic loop from Hebden Bridge. Make extra sure your bike is in good condition for this one because the steep ascents and descents will soon find any weakness in you or your bike!
If you want a cafe stop, call in at the tearooms on the top floor of Moor Lodge, Scar Top (see http://www.scartop.com/moorlodge.htm) on your left after about 32 miles.
This is a 50 mile route, but if your legs are already shot on the climb back out of Oxenhope, you can ignore the left turn up the killer climb and take an 8 mile shortcut back to Hebden Bridge over Cock Hill. Many cyclists take that option! ;-)
Please note - if you do the full route, there is a half mile stretch of tatty unmade road which is potholed and gravelly. It's passable with care on a road bike. Just watch where you are riding and don't go too fast. |

| An imperial century starting from Spring Wood picnic centre, Whalley, near Blackburn. It is a little bit lumpy at the start and finish but there is a long flat section in the middle in the Fylde and Wyre districts so this is very fixed wheel and singlespeed-friendly. Outward leg through Walker Fold north of Longridge Fell. Ride through Kirkham and eventually to Elswick where you can buy an ice cream (or other snack) at Bonds and the route calls in at the cafe at Knott End-on-sea. Shops available at Longridge on the way back, then continue through Ribchester back to Whalley. |

| An almost flat imperial century (actually 101 miles) route from Spring Wood picnic centre above Whalley to the west coast and back. It has a few small lumpy hills at the beginning and end but is pretty much as flat as you can sensibly get in this area. You need to catch the ferry from Fleetwood across to Knott End, currently £2 for a rider+bike. Call 07793 270 934 to check the running times of the ferry. (NB It may not run in bad weather.) Ice creams available on your left at Bonds on Bonds Lane, Elswick, plenty of shops and cafes along the coast and there is a good cyclists' cafe at Scorton after 76 miles. |
