This ride follows the walk across Sussex by Hilaire Belloc in Oct/Nov 1902 described in his book "The Four Men" published in 1912. He was very keen on pubs and beer so the pubs he visited are flagged, where they still exist. The tour is on-road apart from a couple of short bridleway sections needed to stay close to his original route. As I am still planning this route these need to be tested to check they are passable on a touring bike.
