| An Expert ride as it's tough and hilly with several long and a few steep climbs. This needs a compact or triple gear and you'll have to stock up as only Princetown, Yelverton and Tavistock have shops for food & drink. Hot Pursuit Cycles in Totnes (01803 865174) and Dartmoor Cycles in Tavistock (01822 618178) can support last minute needs. |

| you will need the map for this route as there are many twista and turns! At the gate of Raleigh turn left and continue along the road until the crossroads, turn left. Follow the road for approx 850m passing a farm on your left half way along. At the fork in the road take the right hand fork and keep right following it to the end. Take the path through the trees crossing an open section of single track back into the trees taking the path that veers off to the left. Follow the path around the edge of the field, keeping the buildings to your left. At the far end of the field go through the trees and you will hit a road. Follow the road to your left and take the first right up a small lane. Follow the lane around for approx 900m keeping all the houses to your left. When yo reach the end follow the path along the edge of the field next to the treeline. when you reach the end of the field follow the path ahed taking you across another open field towards a clump of trees. Keep following the trail down passing a large shed on your left. Continue on past the shed until you meet a road. Turn right. Follow the road until you come to a fork, continue straight on. You will come to a T junction, turn left. Follow the road into a sweeping curve to your left towards the cliffs. About half way around the curve you will notice a small cliff trail to the side of the road on your rght hand side, take this following the trail parallel to the road. You will eventually come to a large car park on your left. Next part is optional, you can either continue straight across following the coastal path or turn right heading down to the cliff edge in a loop rejoining the cliff trail approx 150m down from the car park (its pretty tough going!) Once you have made your decision continue on the cliff trail running parallel to the road |
