| This ride is about 46 miles long and takes in a variety of road types. These are mainly country roads but there are a couple of right trusn where you may feel safer walking across. The route is fairly flat although Coventry Hill in Hullbridge can be a challenge if you are feeling tired on the way back. Part of the route is along country lanes, but thee can be far from quite on busy Sunday afternoons. When you get to Battlesbridge, you can reward yourself with tea and cake from a delightful little café. |

| This 63 mile route mainly goes through country lanes. There is a major roundabout just after Battlesbridge though where I would very strongly advise you to use the cycle lane around it. Even then, take care.
There are a surprising number of cycle lanes along the route and Hanningfield Reservoir is a great pace to stop off and have a rest. But if you after tea and cake you will need to go to the other side of the reservoir than I did. Simply follow the first Hanningfield Reservoir sign rather than follow my route if you want to do this.

The Recommended Bike Mechanic Ride |
Going Going Bike |

| This ride, of almost 2000km, starts and finishes on the English coast. The long route north to Inverness is broken up by a stop in Stafford. The Return to Southend on Sea goes via Aylesbury.
In each town there is a mechanic recommended on the www.goinggoingbike.com facebook.
It looks like a tough ride, but at least your bike will be well looked after. |
