Loxahatchee Loop |

| This is my first attempt to put together a good loop to Loxahatchee Wildlife Preserve from East Boca Raton. It starts with some pretty straight-forward suburban riding south to SW 18th Street. SW 18th is a pretty tight one-to-two lane rip almost all the way to 441. Both I-95 and the Tpk are overpass hills on this route. Once you get to 441 you only deal with the 441 madness for a mile or so south before linking up with Hillsboro West. It consists of a wide, flat, straight double-lane road (two both ways) with a large median to divide traffic. There are Spanish Oaks lining the road providing some scenery. Once you get to Lox Road the trek turns into a two-lane country road (one lane each way) with little-to-no curbside. There isn't a ton of traffic (dead-end), but what does pass on the slim lanes is usually 10-tons with something in tow. There is a horse ranch (or two?) which is sort've cool. Road ends at at the preserve. I took Hillsboro East back, pretty wide bike lanes virtually the whole way. Hillsboro has a bridge over the turnpike, but ducks under 95. I will take this trek a few more times but will likely tweak it each time to see something new. |

Old People Smell: West Boca Trek |

| Glades West takes you via the I-95 overpass for a hill/traffic start, no bike lanes virtually all the way west passed 441 and into Mission Bay. I didn't realize beforehand but there is a really nice circuit back there with a lot of guys out on Saturday morns...reminds me of Kendall Lakes in Miami a bit. I cut south in an attempt to get through to Hillsboro but ended up running to the end of Palmetto, which turns back into Glades and heads north. I just went with it, got back to 441, and decided to come back on Yamato. There is the Yamato overpass at the Florida Turnpike. I cut south on Military in order to hit the Spanish River I-95 overpass as a last hill. All-in-all an okay ride, but I probably won't do it again. |

| This route has a mixture of bike-lane riding and with-traffic segments. The terrain also varies-- for the first leg all the way to Woolbright, you'll pass an asphalt works and a cement company, so you can imagine the roads in that area... on the way back, you get to push-on with all of the 'cycling elite' on the smooth and harmless A1A South. There are hills: Spanish River Bridge, Woolbright Overpass, Woolbright Intracoastal, and Spanish River Intracoastal. I've taken this ride a few times now and I like it. |

| A nice ride with a bike lane all the way, except for a small portion at Big Lagoon State Park.
This ride takes you along beautiful beachfront/lagoon front roads. You'll also pass by three state parks, two in FL and one in AL. There is a nice paved, wooded path to join up with at Gulf State Park. |

| Starts and ends with a warm-up and cool down through FAU... root traces FAU trail on the eastern most border of FAU that is paved but unmapped. See satellite view. This is the warm-up and cool-down zone. The rest of the route features a few small 'hills' that are the bridges over Spanish River and the Boca Raton Inlet. |
