| This route starts at Famosa Slough, which is great bird watching site. Goes East on W Point Loma & turns left on W. Mission Bay/Midway. Then right onto Bike path (Off sidewalk just before W Mission Bay Dr Bridge. Stay right (going East) on bike path. Follow path all the way past underpass for I-5 Freeway to bike path exit to Pacific Hwy and turn right on Pacific Hwy. Follow Pacific Hwy all the way to Downtown San Diego & turn left on Broadway & follow down to Horton Plaza Shopping Center. Easy, relaxing route, Except in a couple of spots on Pacific Hwy. | |||||

| This route follows one of my favorite parts of my recreational ride up La Jolla Colony Dr., Palmilla, Arriba, Cargill. Nobel and Genesee are sketchy, but this routing would connect with the planned multi-modal transit center at UTC mall. The mall is also funding a mobility study, and maybe that study will come up with some neat way for cyclists to get across La Jolla Village Dr. to Executive Way. This route is a half-mile shorter than the proposed Rose Canyon bike path, and if it went straight up Regents would be one mile shorter. Some sections of it, such as Arriba & Cargill, could become bicycle boulevards. I'd also suggest Nobel to become a bicycle boulevard since it connects two dense areas on either side of I-5, and it parallels the more heavily congested La Jolla village Dr. | |||||
