Extracted this from a published route from Staunton to Charlottesville. I plan to try the route this summer. It starts by going over the Blue Ridge Mountains at Afton Mountain. Unfortunately, the roads have no shoulders or bike route and fast traffic. I decided not to ride the route due to those conditions.

Hilly route that goes through beautiful areas of Wayne to Valley Forge National Park. Lots of hills in this section. Returns on Schuylkill River Train (quite flat) leaving trail in Manayunk, a quaint section of Philadelphia. Final strech is uphill through Lower Merion Township. Rode on Sunday morning. Traffic could be quite heavy on some roads at other times.

Senic ride through the Main Line past Haverford, Villanova, Cabrini and Eastern Colleges. Harcum and Bryn Mawr are just off the route. Lots of hills until the last few miles. Watch traffic on Lancaster and Conestoga.
