Pretty simple. Follow Highway 61. A few trails take you off the highway but most is on road. For about 20 miles very narrow shoulder that is in terrible shape. Early morning start made it possible to avoid most of the traffic.

Two Harbors to Hinkely, Minnesota via Highway 61 to Duluth and Willard Munger Trail to Hinkley. First 20 miles or so of the Munger is in very bad shape. Thereafter the trail is in very good to excellent condition.
