| This was the "Tour of Hope" charity ride held on October 9th 2004. Ride started at the Georgetown Prep School in Bethesda. Approximately 1500 cyclists participated. All donated a minimum of $500 to participate. Ride was led by Lance Armstrong and other members of the US Postal cyclng team. The end of the charity ride coincided with the finish of the "Tour of Hope" cross country ride. |

| Ridden on August 6, 2009. This ride starts in Ashburn VA and ends in Gettysburg PA. Ride utilizes the W O&D and C&O Towpath trails. We crossed the Potomac River at Whites Ferry. Most of the ride is on back roads of Maryland. Rest stops at Whites Ferry, Fredrick and Emmitsburg for food and drink. There is also a bathroom stop in a public park in Utica. |

| We found the best way to get to Cumberland to ride the entire length of the C&O Canal Towpath is to do a one-way truck rental. This is the ride from the Budget Truck Rental office to the Holiday Inn in downtown Cumberland. The Holiday Inn is only blocks away from the C&O trail head. |
