A six day trip, including the train trips from and back to Sydney. Carefully planned to provide for lunch and overnight accommodation at pubs (and occasionally, morning and afternoon "tea"). It draws on the 2008 Great Escapade ride but omitting the initial loop to Jenolan Caves and Oberon, the leg to Scone. It terminates at Maitland. It could easily be extended to Newcastle via Morpeth, Raymond Terrace, Williamtown and Stockton. No need for a car to do this one.

Rail station to rail station; option to terminate or break overnight at Singleton. Very limited rail service to and from Aberdeen. Check out the timetable her: http://www.cityrail.info/timetable/index.jsp Plenty of fair to good quality gravel road; require touring bike at least - leave the roadie at home. No supplies other than at start, finish and at Singleton.

A variation on the Dungog to Singleton ride which provides more options for return rail travel and seven pubs en route (excluding those at the start and finish). I should have classified this one "training"!
