| Hi Everyone my name is Philip I have started to cycle recently and have done a couple of routes around Limerick that I would like to share. I did this one Today starting in Annacotty Village heading out the mountshannon road to Castleconnell then heading to O'Briens Bridge Via the R525 this is a busy enough road at times just keep to the left and you should be ok stopped on the far side of O'Briens Bridge for a quick sip of drink and then on to the R463 Limerick to Killaloe Road this is a bust route again keep to the left and be aware couple of small hills nothing to major then into the wonderfull Killaloe with its lovely views took a short min break for a drink. Crossed over the bridge linking Clare to Tipp and off up the R494 to Birdhill again a little busy but nothing to crazy nice enough road but be catous to a couple of potholes near the filling station so up into birdhill on the old N7 then turn left up quiet a tough hill called chapel hill on the r504 stop at the top lovely view of lough derg and birdhill from here then up another couple of medium hills then its mostly downhill to Newport from when you go over the M7 Flyover then when you come to shower cross turn right for Limerick I stopped again here for a min a couple of streches and a drink then headed for annacotty up the r503 again be catous on this road few potholes and bumps etc then over the railwaygates on to the newport roundabout on the N7 second left for Limerick past finnegans pub and take the second left back down into Annacoty Village great cycle very enjoyable did it in 2.10m covered approx 45k |
