Another nice Vuelta from Marbella to Istan and back. Taking in pressing uphills, some fast roads, a nice bit of Offroad through the mountains with spectacular views. MTB a must. Follow the road from Marbella (fuente de los Barcos) up through the town past the Police station, swing a right up through Naguelles towards the Amphitheatre, Take a left at the fork - burn yourself with the uphill. Hit the dirt track through the hills down the bottom of La Concha, keep climbing, reach the peak - tear it down the dirt road hill, crash out onto the road to Istan for some smooth sp...eed into the town. On return, take the Mountain road from Istan all the way down to Marbella - a nice 25min decent, fast, crouch and let it roll. Join up to the national road, cross the bridge down through the housing estate and burn it back along the Paseo for the final leg. Nice! Mountains, dirt roads, valleys, Lakes, speed, fear, sweat... Do it! Notes: (1) Exclude the route that is cuts the centre of the Map (google maps can only be so good!) (2) Point 'A' actually links up to point 'D' through the mountain pass. (3) Point 'L' leads to point 'M' which puts you directly on the Paseo. Tried to dRaw it here with the map but it failed so here's a Google map link to it: http://goo.gl/maps/sR5V

A nice little spin on the bike - plenty of uphill to take the smile off your face and sweat out that Christmas excess. A short enough route but with plenty of action. Flat roads leading from the town ‎(alternative route not available on map - but you can go up past Albarizas, through the 3 roundabouts, take a right at last one, follow road down through hidden tunnel, then hit a filthy little uphill to get the blood pumping past La Canad...a shopping centre) ascend gradually up into the hills, eventually to some hard/ soft mud tracks that lead up to the caves above Marbella with nice views, at point 'C'. point 'D' has some great off road terrain through a forest and across a river with waterfalls for a little bit of circuit work. Mind the solidified mud - no grip, no traction, no stopping. Like Disney on ice with more blood and less smiles - grrrr! Follow that by 1 of 2 routes that'll get you clocking up to 65klms downhill back towards point 'B' or take the neighbourhood route towards point 'E' that offers a sharper decline at the start but for less of a distance to carry on then in through the Marbella neighbourhoods for some urban fun and crash out onto the Town Promenade for a spot of beach combing to round it all off. Dig it! This route is a nice tour of Marbella - from the Sea to the mountains, forests, down through the town and back out to the Paseo. Dig it! I made up the route in Google maps as it was a ibt easier and I could put in markers - so chek it there: http://goo.gl/maps/PJyW
