This is the route of the Tullamore legs of the Midlands league. It is mainly rural but the bit on the N80 may have traffic.

Shannonside Cycling Club's annual 160k (100ml) tour. Strating at Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT), the first loop takes you through historic old Athlone town centre, across the River Shannon into Co Roscommon. You later cross the shannon again into Offaly and loop back to AIT for refreshments (and showers if finished). Loop 2 takes in Counties Westmeath and Longford. It is a challenging route with no huge climbs but the road is rarely flat.
