The terrain is very diverse and ideal for training rides. The route contains two tough climbs, among which the ascent of the 455 metres high Jaizkibel, the legendary mountain that so often plays a decisive role in this classic. |

| This is a tour I did in 2003. It starts at Santruzi (Bilbao), follows the Pyrenees on the French side to the foot of Mt Ventoux. From here it heads north in the direction of Valence, Clemont-Ferrand and eventually ends at the northern port of Caen. |
