Bormio - Passo Mortirolo (from Mazzo, the hard side used in Giro d'itlalia). Descent towards Edolo which starts the actual climb of the Passo Gavia. The Gavia really starts to go upwards at Ponte di Legno. 2621m at the top, then a hard and tricky descent into Bormio. The same as ridden by Andy Hampsten in the '88 Giro.
