[TRAINING WITH THE PROS] The main TACX ride is 65 km, but this is the bonus route of the 15 km climb to La Vall d’Ebo (together with the team if you are doing this at home!). La Vall d’Ebo is one of the well known climbs in the training camp paradise of the Costa Blanca. The ride starts with a light warmup hill out of the town of Sagra and then follows the main 8 km long climb - on video done as a chase behind the 2011 Team Astana.

[TRAINING WITH THE PROS] A mountainous endurance training ride (on the TACX video with the 2011 Astana Cycling Team) in the Costa Blanca area in Spain. Starting just outside the town of Pego, the route heads south via Sagra and past lush orange groves to the climb to the village of Benimaurrell. After the ride down to the village of Jalon, you are then challenged by a great loop ride that takes you to the climb to Bernia and back to Jalon. On the DVD there is also the bonus 15 km climb to La Vall d’Ebo - but that's another route!

[TRAINING WITH THE PROS] This route follows a TACX video of the 2011 Quick Step Cycling Team during their pre season training camp in Calpe at the Spanish Costa Blanca. You could do this yourself, or at home, follow Tom Boonen, Niki Terpsta, Sylvain Chavanel and their team mates for an endurance training ride, that starts with climbing the Coll de Rates. After some hard lead out sprints with Tom Boonen, the former world champion and winner of many classic races, in full action you finish your pro training with a steady ride back to Calpe via the coastal town of Denia and the climb of Montgo.

Stage 3 starts inland of the Mediterranean from the industrial town of Petrer before a lumpy southwest ride through Baetic System (mountain range) featuring two cat 3 climbs in the last half of the race. The finish is in Totana, a mid-size desert town in the Murcia region where the last several kms of this stage will be flat. The last cat 3 climb crests just 13 km from the finish so look for a successful break and a bunch sprint.

The first road stage heads down the Costa Blanca starting from La Nucia just south of Saturday's TTT host, Benidorm. Other than a category 3 climb near the beginning of the stage, this will be a flat ride meandering down the Mediterranean coast. The finish in Playas de Orihuela, another upscale resort town on the Costa Blanca, has a short 8% section with 500m to go otherwise it's mostly flat which sets up for our first sprint finish of the race. Lots of good sprinters to pick from including Mark Cavendish, Tyler Farrar, Oscar Freire, Daniele Bennati, Alessandro Petacchi, John Degenkolb, Peter Sagan, Marcel Kittel and Tom Boonen
