Begins with a very tough climb up the struggle and onto the Kirkstone pass. Gentle climb up matterdale then the route back from the A66 is relativley flat. Good fast section over the final 5 miles.

Lake District. This road links Buttermere and Braithwaite via a narrow ribbon of tarmac that is shear drama as it bisects the 45 degree steep bank with the most stunning scenery to your left that dwarfs you and with a beast of a 25% right hand bend to the summit.
