The Crossing is designed to pack in 3 National Parks in 3 days across Northern England. The course features a variety of terrains and lots of off-road riding. It is designed to flow as a journey and to be achievable by a large cross-section of riders. You won’t need a full-face helmet and body armour but you will need to be comfortable on off-road terrain and be ready to switch regularly from tarmac to trail to gravel and back again. This is Day/Stage 2 of 3 from Shap to Northallerton. Day 2 - Shap to Northallerton. Some say Yorkshire is God’s own country. Mostly Yorkshiremen of course, but once you look past the flat cap and whippets, what you get is pretty much what they say it is; at least it is to mountain bikers. This route through Yorkshire cannot fail to impress the most discerning of riders. The scenery is stunning and the nature trail network is brilliant. This Day/Stage 2 course will pop you out of the Dales and into the Vale of York to over-night west of the North York Moors. Two Parks down; one to go….
