2006 Shimano Dura-Ace Front Derailleur FD-7800
The front derailleur is often the unloved, ugly cousin when compared with the svelte, machined bit-o-billet out the back. Well, no more, thanks to the Dura-Ace Front Derailleur.
We're promised no more flex from this high-quality unit, which I must say was a huge issue for me on my last Alp d'Huez ascent. Well, perhaps not, but a good feature nonetheless.

Shimano reckons:
"Improvements in shifting are derived not only from new technology, but also from the design of the new FD. Flex is suppressed, creating sharp, precise shifts that are faster and smoother, even from low to high gears, off the saddle. "
Their obligatory happy-customer also points out that “Front shifting that feels like rear shifting, even under the heaviest uphill loads”.
74 grams of shiny front derailleur - that's precisely what I've always needed under heavy uphill loads.
