The way points of this bicycle route:
This is the Point Magu ride starting at Newbury park entrance. Stay on the main fireroad and drop down into Sycamore Canyon. Take the single tract on your right just past the porta pottes . Take the next trail on your right and stay on the double tract rather than taking the single tract until its end at the top of Ranch Center road. Turn left and descend to wood canyon. Stay on the main trail and eventually you will end up on the main Sycamore Canyon Trail. Turn right and at the 9.6 mile point turn right and start climbing the Overlook trail. This is a 1100 foot climb. The views on this trail are fantastic. The Pacific Ocean is on your left and on your right is the tallest peaks of the Santa Monicas looming 2000 feet above you. Sycamore Canyon is spread out almost 1000 feet below you. At the junction of the trail that leads down into Lajoya canyon take a right and descend down the steep Hells Hill. At the bottom of the descent turn right and continue about .5 miles until you see a single tract on your left. Take it to its end and then turn left and the trail will eventually end up on Sycamore canyon. Turn left and the 19.3 mile point you have that nice 400 foot climb out of the canyon floor back to your car.
