The way points of this bicycle route:

I was just going to go home, but decided to go up Avenue road just in case i changed my mind.

I was in the turning lane here so decided to turn and see where it went.

Phoned Selena here to see if she thought I should continue on, or turn and come home. Or something like that.

Ratty, dirty looking islands in th the middle of the road. But there were large trees at least.

Back into the insane traffic. And the right lane near the curb is very rough. Nasty riding.

My sister phoned me at this corner, but I missed the call.

It was just at the top of this hill, going west once, that the hanger my rear derailer is attached to snapped off. As i was riding along here I remembered that traumatic event reassuring myself that such a freak event couldn't happen twice. Then suddenly my pedal siezed up. Argh! I pulled over to the side and found that my panier strap, which has a broken clip, had gone into my real sprocket and was wedged deeply into it and wrapped around. It took some time to work it out. I was significantly greasy after that. Selena returned my call as I was doing this work. Told her that it seemed I was going to D'Arcy's new office.

The idea was that since Don Mills does not have a ramp onto the 401 highway, the traffic might not be so heavy. It definitely was better traffic, though it was getting late in the evening, so it might have just been thinning out because of that. Also coincidentally there was a woman riding a black devinci oslo just like mine at this corner (only a small frame). First time I've seen another bike like mine in the wild.

Long hill starts going up here, the summit being the bridge over the 401 highway. It's a bit gruelling if you're trying to maintain speed.

Top of the hill.
