The way points of this bicycle route:
This is a challenging ride. 50 miles and 7 significant hills to climb.
1st hill, tunnel rd. 800ft climb to the top.
2nd hill, Pinehurst #1, 350 ft. vertical
3rd hill, Pinehurst #2, about 540ft vertical
4th hill, Grizzly Peak, 400ft vertical
5th hill, Wildcat Canyon, 600ft vertical
There is a drinking fountain and restroom here.
Turning right here turned out to be a bad idea. I should have looked at a topographical map a little more carefully...
A lot of descending here. Wait, I was only planning on 6 big hills for this ride. Going down means I'll have to come back up.
Nearly 40 miles and 5 big ascents so far. I hope the hill getting out of here is not too bad.
This is where I nearly cried. It is steep. 13-14% grade. Hill 6, Canon Dr., 250ft vertical.
Had to stand up and muscle it the whole way. I kept hoping I was close to the end and then there was more up around every turn. Pain.
This is where I finally gave up. Had to walk the last 200 ft. It was too steep and my legs were done. Plus it is quite narrow and surprising amount of traffic.
If you can make it up this you are more studly than me. Using a low geared mtn bike doesn't count.
7th hill, Grizzly Peak south, 900ft vertical
