The way points of this bicycle route:
local bar and hangout. this route is to show the awesome shortcut through the leon high school baseball field.
the road becomes a dead end and you continue through the gate into leon high school.
once you are on campus, you must navigate around a small building.
head toward the baseball field and the ditch that runs along it. there you will find a narrow sidewalk
the sidewalk is lined by a fence on one side and the ditch on the other. watch out for trash cans and open gates.
careful, its busy.
this road is 4 lanes with a ditch in the center that long ago was a beautiful stream. the road is dangerous, i suggest taking a whole lane.
this intersection goes along with tallahassees theme of nonsensical traffic junctions.
once you turn onto suwannee street, you will see a park on your right. its what remains of the cascading stream that brought the native americans to this area. after it was decided that tallahassee was to be the capitol of florida, someone thought it was a great idea to destroy the stream and the waterfall/spring that provided water to the area. all the land east of this stream where ross and new leaf market sit now was an indian city, the "old field."
yep.
