The way points of this bicycle route:
richmond pkwy has a bike route alongside the road on the west side. however, the route is bumpy at points and i just go ahead and take the bike lane on the road
watch for traffic merging. alternate is to stay right and take Castro st down past the freeway.
turn right onto marina bay and keey an eye out for the trail on the left before the apt complex
15 mph speed limit between marina bay and the dog park @ central
up and around golden gate fields
good place to stop for coffee, water, or a break. you'll be heading up the hills soon!
virginia is a "bicycle boulevard". few cars, but be careful crossing san pablo, sacramento, MLK, and shattuck
make a left at the bend and start climbing up spruce! this is where the sweating begins
go straight on through to wildcat canyon. lots more shade here, which should be a relief if it's been a hot and sunny ride up sprice
there are restrooms here and water. i prefer taking a break here as opposed to inspiration point. inspiration point does not have water, and if you take too long of a break there, the ride down wildcat feels a lot colder!
inspiration point! perfect place to stop if you like views.
careful. there are 2 or 3 hairpins here that you'll want to slow down for
papa bear
mama bear
baby bear
nice rolling hills, mostly slightly downhill. this is when you want to hammer in the big gears
