The way points of this bicycle route:
turn right onto travis point country club- this is gated and agreat cut through
pleasant lake road- not an overly wide shoulder, but reasonable and only medium traffic- nice scenic views- marshes and farms
If you like the adventure of a cool dirt road- turn right here- if not go forward until you hit Fletcher pick up the route there by turning right
here's the start of the dirt roads- a nice break in the ride with some tough "gravel" hills
there are some hills here that will challenge you- one really tough one occurs before esch- thisk gravel, and steep- a fun challenge, and great leg muscle builder!
in this area- before esch is beautiful scenery- the land to the south is level with the road, but to the right is a steep valley- great camera shots here-
gas station on the left here- if you need anything
left on fletcher- or if you avoided the dirt roads the pick up point to this route
left on parker
in future i'd go straight here and up to dexter ann arbor road, but the bridge is closed- jackson is a bit busy with traffic, but a decent shoulder
highway overpass isn't bad- construction going on summer 2007 which makes it narrower than i'd like
nice park here- and lots of shops around just up the way
dexter cider mill on the right- nice place to stop
turn right onto huron river drive- it's got some rought spots- but a pretty ride, and you'll go past some parks with restrooms, and water available
turn right here to stop at the park
right on zeeb- a fun downhill over the bridge- and a medium hill coming up
left onto dexter ann arbor
hills here aren't bad- but at this point in the ride they seem much bigger - must be an optical illusion!
after this point it's the narrow city streets- no shoulder- but generally safe riding - I'd avoid it during rush hour
the last big hill- go go go! and hope for green lights....
turn right here- and avoid the current packard construction that starts at stadium
swing over and hit the crosswalk signal or you'll be waiting for a while- S. Industrial is a nice wide street but a bit bumpy
and the end!
