The way points of this bicycle route:
Start at Station. Head downhill on Katoomba St to roundabout at Waratah St. If not bothered about seeing the sights of Katoomba, head straight for Leura via Highway.
Right on Lurline St.
Three Sisters Lookout
Great views of the cliffs and valley from the lookouts here.
Follow Cliff Drive
Climbs up.
Left on Leura Mall.
Main street of Leura. Bit of a climb. Tourist centre.
Right at roundabout onto Railway Pde.
Left on Highway. Wait for a gap in traffic and move across to the right turn lane
Right at Sinclair Crescent.
Pretty lake here.
Left onto Railway Pde
Use underpass to get to other side of the railway.
Take Honour Ave to bypass Highway. Nice bushland away from the highway but steep uphill section coming up to Hazelbrook. Alternative would be to stay on highway from Lawson.
Becomes Baths Rd. Nice bushland.
Climbs up.
Left on Station St. Crosses Highway on an overbridge. Have to back track a bit to get onto Highway. old Bathurst rd is a possible alternative but shown as having locked gates on some maps.
Left turn. Join Highway. Good shoulder to Faulconbridge.
Right at lights onto Sir Henry Parkes Pde
Oak trees planted here in honour of past Prime Ministers.
Plenty of bakeries for a lunch stop
Left under highway.
Right onto Railway Pde
Left at Mitchells Pass Rd
Lennox Bridge. Built in 1830's. Beautiful old stone structure. Good lunch spot. Road is one way from here. Sometimes get speeding cars along here and it is steep downhill.
Mitchells Pass Rd ends. Joins Old Great Western Highway.
Great Western Highway. Has a shoulder and not that much traffic.
Cross over here to footpath on other side to access the footpath across the bridge ahead.
Bridge over Nepean River. Take the lane if not using the footpath on other side.
Stay on footpath up to lights.
At lights join the road and turn left and get into the correct lane to make a right turn ahead.
Right on to Jane St
End at Station.
