We have been riding to Ravine State Gardens in Palatka on the last Sunday in February for more than 20 years. The purpose is to see the azaleas blooming in the park. CAUTION: I normally don't ride straight down US 17 into Green Cove Springs ...but we want to get down there and over the Shands Bridge as early as possible. I only ride this bridge once a year. We keep the group together and claim the lane. I am not recommending this as an acceptable bridge for anyone at just anytime. Early on a Sunday morning it's passable.by dawnb
