There are two ways from Progresso to the east. One goes from the town in Progresso and through Chixulub (the first village). It starts along the promenade at Progresso and follows the coast. The other is the major road 1-2km from the coast. This road is quiet and has a wide shoulder. You will continue to follow this road all the way to Dzilm Bravo

This ride can start and finish in Progresso, or as we did from Chixulub. All the roads are exceptionally quiet and you will travel through tiny sleepy fishing villages and inland farming communities and villages. The entire route is a bit over 190kms but as you can see there are numerous ways to make it longer or shorter. All villages will have at least a shop where you can refill your drink bottles, and local helados (icecreams) are delicious.
