This is a highway rest area known as Oasis Obuse.
There is a small bike path following the river. A pleasant warmup.
You have joined the main road and the climbing begins.
You'll soon come to a red bridge. Famous during the Fall due to the Autumn colors
This is the last place to buy some drinks before the top of the climb. There is also a foot bath.
An abandoned ski resort.
The climb is surprisingly shaded.
From, here it is a short descent to Yamada Pasture Ski Resort. If you have not had enough climbing, you can go all the way to Shiga Kogen via Kumanoyu.
You don't find many mixed hot springs, but here is one. It is located in a Ravine - spectacular.
Kaminari Falls are unique because you can walk behind them.
You could easily follow the route you came up in the morning, but this is another alternative.
