The way points of this bicycle route:
This is Willow Springs, home of Xtracycle Global HQ. This route is a really sweet alternative to taking the narrow and trafficky Route 49 into town. It's really steep! But so is every other way, since you have to go in and out of the South Yuba River canyon. There's very little traffic on the Purdon Road portion of the trip, especially in seasons other than summer. Go for a dip in the Yuba!
Post Office
This is Mother Truckers, a natural foods store and gathering spot that makes you wonder where all the people are to support such a thriving business seemingly in the middle of nowhere
Here Purdon Road turns to dirt and starts going downhill to the South Yuba River.
Somewhere around here it turns back into pavement, about 2 miles up from the river. It's steep, and it keeps going and going. There are about 3 major uphills.
