The way points of this bicycle route:
Free parking on the street. Head to the green so you can cross a covered bridge.
Right onto Mountain Ave to cross covered bridge.
Right onto River St
Left onto VT 12
Bear right onto Pomfret Rd.
Covered bridge on dirt rd to left.
Bear right, staying on Pomfret Rd. Start climbing hill to Pomfret.
Start over 6 mile descent
Right at bridge onto Queeche West Hartford Rd. Climb and descend.
Extreme hard right onto Queechee Main St at bottom of hill.
Cross covered bridge and turn right onto US 4. If traffic is heavy, the River Rd is usually smooth, hard-packed dirt and goes all the way into Woodstock at the Billings Farm. Turn right just before the covered bridge for River Rd. Turn left at end to return to town center.
Continue straight onto Pleasant St, leaving US 4.

This short ride features two nice climbs and a 6+ mi. descent. Three covered bridges, lots of old barns and houses, and all the beauty of horse and dairy country make this one of Vermont's great short loops. Do this on a nice day in foliage season and you'll be one spoke short of heaven.
