The way points of this bicycle route:

Winchester

This is a fairly quiet route, with suburban landscape and classic NEw England Towns. The ride begins in Winchester and ends in Wakefield. You can get to the route by taking the T commuter rail to Winchester Center. the ride ends at the Breakheart Reservation in Wakefield, if you dont want to return, take the commuter rail from Wakefield Back.

Woburn

The first leg follows the Aberjona Bike path from Muraco School Parking lot. It follows the Aberjona River and goes through Davidson Park into Woburn. You will then proceed into Calvalry Cemetery in Woburn

Woburn

This 2nd section goes from the Clavary Cem through Woburn. Mostly Suburban landscape. You cross Washington St. and go down Mill St. You will cut through the first driveway on your left in the apartment complex and go to the end where you will find yourself on Salem St. Which turns into Willow St in Stoneham. Turn right onto this st. after you exit the apartment complex (Caution for traffic through the driveway of the complex - narrow)

Stoneham

At the intersection of Main St (Route 28) There is a mall, the Redstone shopping center with numerous restaurants , stores, and a dunkin donuts. I'd recommend the Papa Ginos down the road on the left or the burger king on the right. The Dunkin Donuts is in the mall itself across from the Gulf Station. On the right just after the mall past the Ground Round is a small row of stores with a parking area you can have lunch at the Three Amigos mexican restaurant. Its a great place. To continue on the route leave the mall cross route 28 carefully and go left. Follow route 28 to the traffic light just before the highway (128) and turn right. Continue on the route

Wakefield

This section goes through the beautiful neighborhoods of Wakefield into downtown Wakefield. You will loop around Lake Quanapowitt (Stop in for a muffin at the Gingerbread construction company and a water)....follow the lake around to Wakefield Center with plenty of shops,. Good Eateries include Brothers Restaurant, NoNo's pIzza, (great calzones), and Cravings Ice Cream. There is a park at the south end of the Lake you can eat lunch at.

Wakefield

You will go through Wakefield Center and end up on Nahant Rd, You will then go down Hemlock Rd. Past Wakefield H.S. and go into the Breakheart Reservaton. You will loop around the Reservation outer loop and head back home (Maps are available at the info kiosk in the breakheart Reservation Entrance) Total Trip = Appx 13 miles 26 round trip If you cant make the return trip Take Commuter rail to N. Station and then commuter rail to Winchester. A bit pricey but will get you back to your car at Muraco School in Winchester. Enjoy the ride
