The way points of this bicycle route:
Pass under the bridge and stay on the trail to Hell's Gate
TAke the left to the exit road at the end of the parking lot
Take the right. This is designated a bike route but that doesn't mean there's lots of shoulder.
Traffic is heavier for the next 3 miles.
You'll turn right instead of climbing McIntosh to your left.
TAke the left up Web Ridge
Long descent. Put your jacket on in cooler weather.
Busy road but good shoulder for about 5 miles.
Nice little Cafe
convenience store. Take a break, get a drink, eat a bite. You've got 8 miles of climbing ahead of you.
Look sharp for this road on your right at the top of rise. You'll nearly reverse directions as you turn on to it.
Go straight through to the lake or take a left to the main street to find the Lakeside cafe. Good food.
Convenience store on Left. 95 is busy. There are good shoulders but filled with rumble strip. About 1.5 miles.
Rollers across the top. Enjoy.
3.9 miles to Arrow Bridge. Busy. Narrow, poor shoulders. Be careful. Not bad midday usually.
Option to stay on left road through to Spalding park. Cool, shady, toilets and water. No food. Return to Hieghway 12 on 95 south of Spalding.
We sometimes ride out to Kendrick for lunch Zoe's Cafe and come back on the same route. About 25 miles more.
paved poorly leaving a lip t the right of the rumble strip. Also often cluttered. Ride single file with a couple of bike lengths between you.
This takes you behind the Nez PErce Casino and makes hitting the convenience store easier.
We like these frontage roads. They give variety to the legs and get you away from traffic noise.
Right turn then left turn. Watch for a nasty road wrinkle on your right turn.
This road doesn't go where you think. Make sure you make this left.
You will soon have to cross the road climbing the grade to Moscow and PUllman. Be very careful here and on the other side where you'll cross downhill traffic.
Watch out for fast moving traffic that wants to go uphill.
We usually leave the main road at the Rose Garden. You can stay on the road to cross the bridge if traffic is light.
Cross this road and take the frontage road that parallels Down River Road. If you prefer, turn right follw the road around to Red Wolf Crossing. This will add enough miles to give you a full century.
Cross the street, carefully, turn left and find the on ramp. Ride the sidewalk across the bridge.
Stay on the path and take the sharp right when it does.
Watch for work traffic. Turn right and ride through the alley.
Take the bike path back to Southway.
