The way points of this bicycle route:
Start at the Tin Mountain Conservation Center
Left onto Rt 16/113
Left at the light onto Rt 112, the Kancamagus Highway
Right onto Bear Notch Road. It's about 4 miles up from this side, but the climb's not too steep. And it doesn't start right away on this side, either :-)
You should hit the top right about here. It's flat for maybe 1/2 mile, then a nice 4 mile descent into Bartlett.
Rest stop #1 coming up on your right just ahead.
Left onto 302 toward Crawford Notch. Be patient for the traffic!
The last couple of miles of this climb really bite - sorry about that!
Pat yourself on the back - you made it to the top!
Rest stop #2 at the Irving Station coming up on your right
Right onto Rt 3 North
Right onto Rt 115
Right onto Rt 2 East toward Gorham
A nasty-looking climb here. But not as bad as it looks. It's short!
Rest stop at the Motel on the right. Try to resist jumping in the pool!
Coming onto Gorham now
Turn right onto Main Street/Rt 16 South
Turn right again to stay on Rt 16, leaving Main Street/US2. You're about to start climbing Pinkham Notch - not steep, but long!
Rest stop on the right at the base of the Mt Washington Auto Road
You've just passed the AMC Pinkham Notch Visitor's Center, so you're now at the top. Nice long descent into Jackson and Glen.
Say hello to Storyland on your left. Watch our for cars and kiddos through here!
Left at the light onto 302.
You're now coming into Intervale/N Conway. Watch out for traffic!
Right at the light onto River Road
Left onto West Side Road
Right onto Main Street/Rts 16 & 113
Right onto Bald Hill Road, the second right after the light at 112. The next mile is a tough climb - sorry 'bout that!
Finish back at the Tin Mountain Conservation Center. Watch out for the gravel parking lot. Get changed and have some lunch!
