Whalley Fleetwood Flat Century

An almost flat imperial century (actually 101 miles) route from Spring Wood picnic centre above Whalley to the west coast and back. It has a few small lumpy hills at the beginning and end but is pretty much as flat as you can sensibly get in this area. You need to catch the ferry from Fleetwood across to Knott End, currently £2 for a rider+bike. Call 07793 270 934 to check the running times of the ferry. (NB It may not run in bad weather.) Ice creams available on your left at Bonds on Bonds Lane, Elswick, plenty of shops and cafes along the coast and there is a good cyclists' cafe at Scorton after 76 miles.by ColinJ
