Go straight ahead at the roundabout. Cycle lane ends.

Macleod

Straight ahead at roundabout down McNamara St.

Macleod

First right after roundabout

Second right up Macleod Pde - long, slow hill, some busses but otherwise quiet backstret

Right onto Ruthven St

Straight ahead and slight left at traffic lights - enter side street

First left onto Potter Road - quiet residential side street.

Give way

Heidelberg Heights

Right onto Dougharty Road - slight uphill then long downhill. No cycle lanes but quiet, wide road.

Straight ahead at traffic lights

left at roundabout onto Oriel Rd. Cycle lanes along length of Oriel Rd, but shared with bus stops.

Straight ahead at traffic lights

Heidelberg West

Right at traffic lights onto Bell St - cycle lane at intersection but not after, take care of turning traffic

First left at traffic lights onto Oriel Rd again, cycle lane resumes

Ivanhoe

Right at traffic lights, cycle lane ends, use left lane to turn right, beware of turning traffic

First left onto Belmont Rd, quiet residential side street

Right at the end of the road onto Della Torre Cr

Left onto Abercom Ave

Road ends, shared pathway over Darebin Creek, followed by a sharp zig-zag uphill; turn right at path intersection. Beware sharp corners and poor visibility and snakes in summer

Leave path and travel straight ahead/ slight right onto Bennett St. Beware cobblestones at end of pathway

Right onto Parklands Ave. Give way, some local busses

Immediate left onto Kelvin Rd

Alphington

Right at roundabout onto Wingrove St. Cycle lane, however narrow and some debris.

Straight ahead at traffic lights- if quiet, use pedestrian crossing to get green light. Broad speedhumps from here to Westgarth, light traffic

Fairfield

Straight ahead - no traffic lights and busy road so cross with caution

Left onto Vauxhall Rd. You can continue onto Victoria Rd - Cycle lane, however you will need to cross busy traffic to turn right onto South Cr immediately before train line

Right onto South Cr. Continue beside train line

Straight ahead - no traffic lights, beware busy traffic and cobbletones

Beware pedestrians crossing to and from Station

Right onto Westgarth St, cycle lane.

Straight ahead at traffic lights; cycle lane ends just before traffic light and resumes afterwards; relatively busy intersection; beware crossing tram line.

First left after traffic lights; quiet residential St.

Stop sign; straight ahead

As road veers left, cross over right and take shared pathway bridge over Merri Creek. Turn right at end of the bridge.

Fitzroy North

Continue under Rushall Station - dismount. Continue to the right at the end of the tunnel, then follow the road to the left leading away from the station

Turn right at the roundabout.

Cross at the traffic lights

Carlton North

Turn left into Canning Street - green bike lanes along this road and bicycle right of way over cars.

Carlton

Cross over busy Princes Street at pedestrian/ bicycle lights.

Carlton

Turn right at the roundabout to go up the hill diagonally. Some speedbumps.

Join the green bike lanes on Rathdowne Street

Turn right onto Queensberry St - use the pedestrian crossing (naughty) if required in busy traffic as hook turns are not possible here. Cycle lane

Straight ahead over Lygon St. Cycle lane

Melbourne

Left onto Cardigan St, cycle lane but not always respected by cars here, beware parking cars

Straigh ahead across Victoria St. Cycle lane up to traffic lights but not respected by cars, take care

Straight ahead over Swanston St - high traffic, beware turning cars and tram tracks

Left at roundabout, onto green cycle lane.

Right at traffic lights onto Abeckett St - use right turning lane or hook turn from left.

Left onto William St. Cycle lane
