The way points of this bicycle route:
Turn right out of Watford Junction Station
Go past The Flag pub
Take a right turn down the small lane called Bridle Path
Get off your bike and walk under the pedestrian tunnel to cross under St. Albans road
Head North Along St. Albans Road. This is quite a busy road through suburban North Watford. You will only be on this road for a few hundred metres. The route soon turns down much quieter roads.
At this point the cycle path crosses into the middle of St Albans Road. This is to allow traffic to filter off to the left. Continue straight ahead.
Turn right off St Albans Road into Brixton Road (it is marked as a dead end but there is a small gap at the end you can wheel your bike through)
Take a left at the end of the road, heading towards the small gap at the end of the Cul-De-Sac which you should wheel your bike through.
Continue straight along Bradshaw Road
At the end of Bradshaw Road is a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights over Balmoral Road. Cross at the traffic lights and turn right under the railway bridge.
Turn left along Knutsford Avenue
Go straight over the traffic lights at Bushey Mill Lane (by the Tudor Arms pub). This takes you into Tudor Avenue. Continue straight up Tudor Avenue.
At the end of Tudor Avenue you come to the main A41 road. At this point you should see a gap (for pedestrians) in the central reservation. Get off your bike at this point and cross the A41 using this gap.
Having crossed the A41 turn right and take the small ramp (about 5 metres away) which doubles back and leads down into the small park.
Cross the small park towards the community centre and, crossing the small car-park, turn left onto Garsmouth Way (towards the high rise blocks)
At the end of Garsmouth Way (having passed the high rise blocks on your left), turn left into York Way and then immediately first right into The Phillipers
Continue to cycle along The Phillipers. Eventually, at the end of The Phillipers, you will bear right down a small hill towards a mini-roundabout and the road will meet another road called The Gossamers. Turn left along The Gossamers at the mini-roundabout.
Go under the railway bridge by the traffic lights.
Take the second right after the railway bridge into Codicote Drive
Entering Garston Park, take the left fork of the cycle paths which heads off towards the far left hand corner of the park
When leaving Garston Park turn right along the cycle path that goes north along the side of St Albans Road. Continue along this cycle path.
Leave the cycle path and turn right along Bucknalls Lane
The entrance to BRE is just across the bridge over the motorway. Ask the security guard about cycle parking and showers.

Press Start Tour - then use the navigation buttons below to move along the path.
This is a relatively quiet route to get to BRE from Watford Junction station. It is mostly on minor roads and cycle paths. Note that there are a couple of points where you should get off your bike and wheel it. A faster ride (on much busier roads) is also on this website.
See Cue Sheet (click Show / Cue Sheet) for written pointers to take with you.
