Unprecedented start from Sierra Nevada to reach one of the discoveries of La Vuelta 2010. The town Valdepeñas de Jaén will welcome the peloton back with open arms as it did last year with the arrival of Igor Anton in front of the race. The finish line may catch more than one cyclist by surprise if they are not well positioned at the start of the second climb to Alto de Valdepeñas de Jaén (category 2).
