The way points of this bicycle route:
New bridge may have cycle lane on west side so a bicycle route on south side of Victoria Rd would be useful.
Uses footpath as far as Moodie St. Some impovements would be needed, such as wider and smoother kerb ramps at side streets.
R at Moodie St
L at Waterloo St.
Darling St. Traffic lights are to be installed here, so it will be easy to cross to Belmore St
Belmore St is one way west but if a contraflow lane cant be fitted then Red Lion St can be used to head east.
L at Evans St.
R at Kennif St. This is steep but wide. Could use an alternative route through O'Connor reserve off Evans St for westbound cyclists.
L at Elizabeth St
R at Quirk St. Path from O'Connor Reserve joins here.
Road closure is to be removed according to Leichhardt Bike Plan.
Cross Gordon St, or can turn R down Gordon to Lilyfield Rd. Could be a link in future along old goods line to Anzac Bridge from foot of Gordon St.
R at Victoria Rd. Use footpath to Lilyfield Rd and the overbridge.
Lilyfield Rd. Cross with care to ramp to overbridge. The overbridge is designed for pedestrians and is narrow with sharp turns.
L at Victoria Rd shared footpath. Watch for other cyclists when turning left onto path- sight lines are limited.
L onto approach to Anzac Bridge cycleway. This bend is blind so keep left, and watch for cyclists on the other overbridge on your right.
Low point of path. Access to the unused Goods Yard is possible here to get to Gordon St and also to Robert St. Long term plans for the area will hopefully include these links. See photos on Picassa web at picasaweb.google.com/fractalbug
Cycleway continues to Pyrmont and the City
