Vianden - Esch-sur-Sure - Wiltz - Vianden
by bicitifo

The way points of this bicycle route:

Vianden

move up the main street and take the right - very steep - towards the castle

Mont St Nicolas

Congratulations! You've now reached the summit of the Mont St Nicolas. Continue down the main road.

Groestaen/Poul

take a left from the main road towards Brandenbourg

take the first right towards Merscheid

Merscheid

In Merscheid try to go to Hoscheid (I'm not sure if it's indicated). This is a very beautiful, narrow and curvy descend. Be careful.

Hoscheid

take the left indicated Diekirch/Esch-sur-Sure

Take the hairpin right towards Esch-sur-Sure

You've now finished one of my very favourite descends in this area. Turn right - again - towards Esch-sur-Sure.

Goebelsmuehle

Enjoyed it? Good! I think it's a beautiful road. Turn right onto a very heavy traffic road towards Wiltz. Don't worry; you'll be leaving this road soon.

Buderscheid

It's been long enough on this big, nasty road with too much traffic, hasn't it? Turn right.

Wiltz

Follow indications towards Kautenbach

keep going towards Kautenbach

Kautenbach

Go to Alscheid... tough climb

go straight... steep!

Wilwerwiltz

Pintsch

Bockholtz

Hosingen

This is a pretty bumpy and curvy part of the descend. So I suggest taking it a little easy. (I actually lost a drinking bottle here once.)

Untereisenbach

Wahlhausen

If you are a VERY experienced mountainbike rider, may I suggest taking a left here and descend through the woods, then taking the main road back to Vianden. If you're a road-bike rider like myself continue the route...

Putscheid

Next a very fast - no turns whatsoever - descend!

Stolzembourg

Groestaen

Getting tired? You're now at the top of the last substantial climb of the day. I promiss.

Fouhren

Bettel

Vianden

Back in Vianden where you've started: at the bridge. I hope you enjoyed this route.
