continue on San Andreas Rd
T intersection, follow bike route signs!
Traffic will be somewhat heavier but there is a wide shoulder
roadside market with fresh fruit and if the truck is open they have steamed and deep fried artichokes!
at this intersection of Monte/del monte, cross intersection, turn LEFT and head onto bike path. SAG spot
SAG parallel bike path (bike path starts at Lapis Rd) use Lapis then rt onto Del Monte or stay on Del Monte
SAG vehicles parallel on Del Monte Blvd
SAG onto Hwy 1
SAG exit Hwy 1 here and take Del Monte BLVD all the way down to Camino El Estero where cyclists will exit (you can also take HWY 1 to Munras and backtrack)
follow bike route signs
Follow bike path. Circuit city is on the left, you will be riding behind stores including COSTCO
small climb
turn right at T at bottom of hill
Look for beach volleyball cts, Monterey Bay Kayak. follow path to left to cross over Del Monte
Exit bike path, cross Del Monte Ave and continue on El Estero
lots of cafe type places to have lunch in this 3-4 block area
NOTE! this street is Abrego to the left but the signs only say Washington at this intersection!
There is a bike path that parallels this road, but you have to cross over at this intersection to reach it
Caution crossing this intersection. NOTE - SAG vehicles need to get onto HWY 1 here.
watch out for a steep grade here! at one point it is 22% :)

exit bike path and turn RIGHT to cross over highway overpass
there is some more climbing for a bit
if you want to go into Carmel, turn RT at Ocean Ave (.5 miles to downtown)
If you want to go to shopping center, turn left at Carmel Valley Rd, then right into center
turn into the State Park and follow signs to Big Sur Lodge. Welcome!
