start at town hall
Start up narrow old toll road to avoid busy state highway
Steep, narrow, scenic
The R.L. Stevenson park to the west surrounds Mt. St. Helena and an old silver mining district, idea source for one of the authors stories.
harbin Hot springs is near here, a real woo woo new age place.
The lake is shallow and murky
Hills before this and more ahead. I would take two days each way if i ever did this ride on a bike.

Even the web site does not do justice to how isolated this place is. A satellite phone might work here but not much else.
