The way points of this bicycle route:
Keele Subway Station
R onto St Clair Ave W
First Left onto Old Weston Rd
R onto Keele Street again.
Right and uphill behind the car wash. Still Keele St.
Keele & Finch. You may see a ghost bike on the North East corner in memory of a fallen cyclist.
Left onto Steeles Ave W. Caution: Cars routinely speed here (100km/h). There is no shoulder.
Turn north on Jane Street. Here up until canal road is fresh smooth asphalt.
At highway 9, there is a chicane (left then right) with only a short distance required on Highway 9.
Right onto Jane.
Continue on Jane. But warning: This intersection (with S Canal Bank Rd) is a surprise and comes right after a small bridge. You will not have time to look left or right for traffic unless you're traveling slowly.
Turn Left onto Woodchoppers Lane at this T intersection where Jane ends.
Right onto Wist Rd. This is where woodchoppers lane ends in a T intersection.
Right onto Canal road. The canal road fruit stand (if open) is the last chance for water until Barrie. Canal road is bumpy and full of cracks but it's a short ride.
Left onto 5th line. This is the first left on Canal Road.
First right (North) onto 10th Sideroad which is narrower than Jane and IIRC has no shoulder. But the surface is good.
First chance to get water (Mac's?). The store is clearly visible from road. Another at the next block etc.
Left onto Burton Ave (Younge Street).
Right at T intersection onto Essa Rd / Hwy 27.
