This is a real sweet run. Along the Ipswich River
Rte 133/ 1A can be a bit of a hassle, traffic-wise. But the shoulder is wide.
Picturesque New England town.
Things get a little nicer after Rowley
Stay off the Route 1 access road.
Across the first span of the Chain Bridge, this island is a nice spot.
The second span of Chain Bridge is a steel grate bridge. Assert your right to use the road, and stay away from the edge of the roadway.
The road along the Merrimack River is pleasant.
The road is marked Closed here. It is entirely passiable for bicycles, and safe.
Most times, you can find a place to leave a car in the parking lot of the Congregational Church.
