Proceed east on University Way.
Turn left and climb the short hill on Brick Road.

Duck your head if pilots are doing touch-and-gos at the airport.
Turn left.
Zoom down the surprisingly steep bump to Reecer Creek Road. The Manastash Metric Century, held every year in the fall, takes riders UP this bump near the end of the ride and it always catches a few folks by surprise.
Turn right.

There's real traffic on Highway 97. Fortunately, it's got good shoulders. Turn right.
This is a favorite spot of mine in the Kittitas Valley. It displays the extraordinary nature of the Cascades. Behind you, to the southeast, you have climbed out of the austere beauty of the shrub-steppe east slope of the Cascades. (In mid-summer, the only green you see in the Kittitas Valley is due to irrigation, riparian habitat, or plants and trees that have tapped into groundwater.) In front of you to the northwest are lush valleys, evergreen forests and rugged, snowcapped, alpine peaks. Enjoy.
There's a very scenic barn on the east side of Highway 97 near this junction. Turn left.
A short steep climb!
Turn right.
Turn left.
Turn right.
The new Bowers Road extension is a nice way to get back into town. Turn left.
Turn right.
Ride nice! There are usually lots of pedestrians on the campus. Straight ahead on the Walnut mall.
