A couple of steps down and up to cross the the drain.
Alternatively and advisable to continue on the footpath besides Lentor Avenue on the Southward side. This will avoid a dangerous spot at the exit of SLE.
It is very very dangerous and difficult to cross here when there are continuous flow of traffic coming out of SLE on a downslope into Lentor Avenue. See note at Yio Chu Kang junction for alternative. I strongly advice to avoid this crossing by riding on footpath since virtually no pedestrian on this stretch of roads, but beware of other cyclists.
If using footpath east of the Lentor Avenue, can move back onto the road after this junction, or preferably on to the footpath west of Yishun Avenue 2 because many buses moving on the relatively narrow left lane.
Can take a break and have some food/drink here, if you don't intend to go to JB for the cheaper prices there.
Ride slowly and becareful of the heavy human and bicycle traffic here.
I think there is actually no official provision for riding bicycle across the Causeway, but I haven't ridden across the Causeway for many years already. I am not sure if this is still feasible or necessary. Cyclists have to somehow get into the motorcyclists lane by carefully left-U-turn and against single lane vehicle traffic for a short distance and right-U-turn into the motorcyclists road. Alternatively, ride down further and join the motorcycles just before the customs by moving under some barricades, but not sure if they allow it, even though this is much safer for the cyclists.
